History: Furtura was the first of a series of six boats built to this basic design by Athol Walters. Each subsequent boat an evolution of Athol’s thoughts on sailing. Futura is carvel planked huon pine with each plank and bevelled to fit perfectly, therefore Futura has no caulking. She raced for many years in Hobart before moving to Sydney and came into our posession in 1992.
