History: Designed by Arthurr Robb in 1950 the first Lion was constructed in England & performed very well against her contemporaries in that years round the island race (Isle of Wight). According to “Bristows Book of Yachts” 140 had been constructed by 1964 & mine was one of the later ones constructed at the Cheoy Lee shipyards. Most Cheoy Lee Lions were constructed of teak planking or later fibreglass, but unusually mine is strip planked mahogany with teak cabin sides.
