History: Ventura was probably built around 1940. Until 1987 if was moored at Hobson’s Bay and since then at Queenscliff, Victoria. Ownership changed in around 1952, 1985, 1987 and to the current owner in 2005. It has cruised in Bass Strait many times over this period although most of the time it has been sailed in Port Phillip Bay. The current owner undertook significant renovation in 2005. Construction is Carvel with planking in NZ Kauri on hardwood frames with the keel and deadwood largely in Oregon. She has her original oregan main mast.
